The attached file is a zipped Service Pack for Carrier's DataLine Interogation Software program. The requirements for using this Service Pack are that there is a full version of DataLine already installed. This Service Pack upgrades the current installed version to add functionality to versions from 1.0 through 1.8 and upgrades all these versions to 1.9. If the upgrade is to be carried out on field computers that do not have internet connections the set up file install_dataline_19.zip should be copied to a CD and then follow the installation instructions below.
  1. Changes with this version
    1. Operational Software Support to levels shown below
    2. Added Support for Microsoft Vista 32bit operating systems
    3. Added CA alarm 46
    4. Graph time base changed to allow custom selection of base line dates and to zoom in to graphs
    5. Event descriptions updated to include all events since last release
    6. Modified ability to update and add events between full releases. These will be distributed as updates and will change the third character of the version number 1.9.1 being part of this Service Pack installation.
    7. Corrected real time clock display to show the correct year when data is displayed using Windows set for Chinese regions

  3. Requirements
    1. DataLine version 1.0.0, 1.1.0, 1.2.0, 1.3.0, 1.4.0, 1.5.0, 1.5.1, 1.6, 1.7.0, 1.8.0 must already be installed.
  4. Verifying current version
    1. Start DataLine
    2. Click ? open the about dialog box.
    3. The version number will be displayed in the About Dialog Box. If the version number shown is 1.8 then nothing further needs to be done. If the version number is 1.0.0, 1.1.0 1.2.0, 1.3.0, 1.4.0, 1.5.0, 1.5.1, 1.6, 1.7.0 or 1.8.0 then download and install the file below.
    4. Shut Down DataLine
  5. Downloading the Service Pack
    1. Click on the file attachment below
    2. When asked what you want to do select 'Save This file To Disc'
    3. Select where you want the downloaded file to be saved to. By default it will save to C:/Windows/Temp/Install_DataLine_19.zip. If you change the download location please note the location it is saved to
    4. Click enter to start the download. Install_DataLine_19.zip
  6. Installing the Service Pack
    1. Installing Service Pack 9 on Windows 98 / 98SE
      1. Ensure ALL programs are shut down before starting the upgrade process. This includes programs that may be running in the background in the Windows toolbar. Such as software firewalls eg Zone Alarm, Anti virus programs eg Mcafee, Instant messaging programs eg AOL or Yahoo Instant message.
      2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the directory you saved the download file to.
      3. You will need to extract the files from the zip file before proceeding.
        1. Double click on Install_DataLine19.zip
        2. Select the directory you want to extract the files to
        3. Click OK
      4. Navigate to the directory you extracted the files to if different to the location of the zip file.
      5. Double click the file SetupDL190.exein this directory and the service pack installation will begin.
      6. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the install, NOTE do not change the location of the program files.
      7. On completion of the installation reboot your computer for the changes to take affect.
      8. Once your computer has rebooted navigate back to the directory containing the unzip files.
      9. Double click the file UpdateDL191.exeand a minor events update will take place bringing all the events and codes up to date.
      10. A reboot is not required after this install.
      11. If you need to install the Keyspan USB - RS232 serial adaptor software and hardware follow the separate instructions below titled Installing Keyspan USB - RS232 adaptor
    2. Installing Service Pack 9 on Windows NT and 2000
      1. To install the upgrade on a Windows NT or 2000 machine you must have Administrator privileges. If you dont have these system privileges or the installation will not run please contact your local system administrator who can assist you with system privileges
      2. Ensure ALL programs are shut down before starting the upgrade process. This includes programs that may be running in the background in the Windows toolbar, such as software firewalls eg Zone Alarm, Anti virus programs eg Mcafee, Instant messaging programs eg AOL or Yahoo Instant message.
      3. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the directory you saved the download file to.
      4. You will need to extract the files from the zip file before proceeding.

      11. Double click the file UpdateDL191.exe and a minor events update will take place bringing all the events and codes up to date.
      12. A reboot is not required after this install.

      14. Owing to the security changes within XP and Vista users must have administrator rights to download data from a reefer unit
